We are 150m North of the Coober Pedy Post Office & between the BP & Mobil Service Stations and look for the Red Digital Time / Temperature Display on top of our Accommodation.
Choice of 8 Underground Motel Rooms and 2 Above Ground Motel Rooms, 12 Underground Budget Rooms and 6 Dorm Rooms of various capacity.
Radeka Downunder was originally an Opal Mine in the 1960s and was converted into an Underground Accommodation premises in the Mid 80s. The Sandstone rock keeps the temperature all year round between 22c - 28c avoiding the extreme heat outside in Summer and the cold nights in Winter.
We are within 200m of Restaurants, Supermarkets, Underground Church, Westpac Bank with ATM, Opal Shops and Museums, Hotel and we have a Fully Equipped Communal Kitchen.

Outback South Australia | | Directions | Coober Pedy is situated on the Stuart Highway in the Remote Far North Outback Area of the State of South Australia 845ks North of the States Capital of Adelaide. We are also 685ks South of Alice Springs and 750ks South East of Ayers Rock / Uluru which are all in the Northern Territory and which is in a separate Time Zone in the Summer Months. Usual Driving Times are 100ks every hour and add a little bit of time for Fuel and Refreshment stops.
Turn East off the Stuart Highway into Coober Pedy, this will lead you into Hutchison Street which is the Main Street in the Center of Coober Pedy. You will see the BP & Mobil Service/Fuel Stations on your Right. Radeka Downunder Underground Motel & Backpacker Inn is located between them at No. 1 Oliver Street. Look for the Red Digital Time / Temperature Display on top of our Accommodation. Park in the "Check-In Lane" outside Reception and please supply us with your vehicle registration number at that time.
Are you arriving by "Regional Express Airlines" or the "Greyhound Bus"?
Radeka Downunder Underground Motel & Backpacker Inn is located 5ks from the Coober Pedy Airport. Regional Express Airlines (Rex Airlines) fly once a day Sunday - Friday from and back to Adelaide.
We are also located 800ms from the Coober Pedy Greyhound Bus Terminal. Greyhound Bus has a Daily Service to and from both Adelaide and Alice Springs.
Notify us please if you require our Free Courtesy Bus for your Transfers to and from either the local Airport or Bus Terminal.
